Happy Birthday to...

Hayden!!

Today is Hayden's 1st birthday!!
We are so excited, we could hardly sleep last night, well I, Kara could hardly sleep last night! I was way to excited!! The above picture is Hayden and his birthday Breakfast, I made BLUE pancakes, and he had it with strawberries and whip cream! He seemed to enjoy it lots! Tonight I am making his favorite supper, BAKED POTATO SOUP! The reason I say it is fave is because last time I made it, Hayden scarved down 3 bowls of the stuff! He loved it, and the whole time he was eating it he was saying mmm.

And for dessert is this...

I look at this, and I still cannot believe it that I made this! I was shaking so much, that I had to walk away and come back to it, because I was so nervous! But it turned our great, and thinking back to it, it actually wasn't that hard!! I showed Hayden this, and his face just lit up!

Tonight we will be having another party for three!!

And then on Saturday we are having a birthday party for him at our church! I am so excited, but a little stressed because I need to so some more decorating! :)

Happy Birthday Hayden. mommy and daddy love you so much!

A Party for Three!

This post I should have posted a long time ago, but things have been crazy busy around here! Adrian is super busy at work, and I have been busy prepping and getting ready for a birthday party!

Adrian turned 23 on the 14th of March, and Hayden and I decided to throw him a little party when he got home from work! We decorated the place with balloons and a Happy Birthday party banner! Every Birthday I ask Adrian what he wants for his birthday, he wanted Greek Salad, and Sausage Burgers! It was super yummy, and kinda healthy which is also a good thing!  We had supper, birthday cake, went for a bike and spent the evening as a family with an exepction of me having book club! :) He let me go, don't judge! He also had a meeting!  Anyways, we love you Adrian, you are a great daddy and husband, thank you for all you do!

Hayden's First Hospital Visit

Last night was a rough, long night!

Around 230 in the afternoon, I noticed that Hayden was acting a little clingly and not acting like himself at all, his eyes were glossy and his cheeks were a bright red. When I picked him up I noticed that he was a little warm, so I put sesame street on, gave him his water, and forced him to relax, and I also gave him some Advil. When supper time came around, he seemed to be doing a little better, he ate a little bit of supper, not normal, he usually scarves his supper down. After his bath time, I noticed that his forehead was burning up, so we put him to bed hoping that he would sleep it off. Around 1030 at night, I heard moaning and groaning from his crib, so I went to go check on him, and he was HOT, and cheeks were rosier and his eyes did not look normal at all. So, we took his temperture again and this time it was 101.4 F, we then decided to go into the Emergency to see if the doctor could do something to get his fever down. I read in one of my baby books, that when a Baby gets a fever it is something you take serious, because if it gets too hight then the child can start having seizures and we were not going to risk that, we both had a gut feeling that we should go in. We went in around 11:00, and I am so glad that we did! We found out that Hayden has a throat infection, he gave us Tyelnol, and Antibotics.  But other then the throat infection, and the fever he was good to go! Now, the reason it was such a long night was because the doctor wanted us to wake him every 4 hours, to check his temperture and give him Tyelnol, he said doing this, should bring the fever down, and it did alot! Then he said he wanted to see Hayden again today, we have a doctors appointment at two today!

I am so thankful for doctors, nurses and our healthcare, yes sometimes there is issues with it, but at the same time I think we should be thankful that we live in Canada and we have a healthcare system, instead of living in a third world country where they do not have the supplies or the access to a doctor all the time. Today I have alot of reasons to be thankful.

Hayden's First Haircut!

Adrian had the day off today because he works on Saturday. So, I thought that this was the perfect day to make a haircut appointment for Hayden, that way Adrian could be apart of this event.

Hayden did so good, he didn't cry at all, maybe it helped that he was sitting on my lap, and the hairdresser was SO good with him. The following are pictures of him and his new "do".

Before!

After!

After the haircut, Hayden was not happy! We stripped him down, because we think he was itchy from all the hair that was on his neck, we went straight home and gave him a bath!

Of course his eyes aren't open, but I thought it was still a super cute picture!

Daddy did his hair!

It was such a good day! I love it when Adrian has the day off! We started our day off with just a simple breaky, toast, and cereal, and had a relaxing morning! Then in the afternoon, we went uptown, did some errands and went to the Arborg Bakery for some soft ice cream sundaes! Hayden loved it! Then did the whole haircut thing, and came home and barbqued some chops, and had a lovely supper (and a mini bday party for Adrian, which I will blog about tomorrow!)  together as a family! Now Hayden is in bed, and we are about to watch TV and probably hit the hay early we both our so tired!!

Hayden Ryan

We cannot believe that our little baby will be a year in two weeks. We didn't know what to expect when we found out that we were pregnant, we both were shaking in our boots! But now when we look back on our married life, we cannot imgagine our lives without Hayden, he has brought us so much joy, and a whole new pure look on life and this world. Thank you God for Hayden, thank you for all the days you have blessed us with him and all the days to come.

Hayden's Vocabulary!

Lately Hayden has been sounding out words! This is the extent of it:

Wat tiss: Which means "What's this"
Hot
Buboos: Which means he wants the bottle
Brr: he will look outside when there was snow on the ground and say brr.
Oh

and so far that is it, lately he has been making a sound that sounds like he is saying water, but we are not totally sure yet if he means the real thing.

I heard a story once  that a man had lots of proud moments when he was a father but two of the proudest moments he had was when his children starting talking and reading. I am looking forward to that.

We are very proud of him.

Hayden the Janitor!

I do not understand Hayden sometimes! Hayden does not like loud noises, if something is too loud he will scream till its quiet. So, when we bought our house and realized with this house we will need a vacuum cleaner, I was kinda nervous to use it because I was scared of what Hayden's reaction will be. But, I was completely wrong about what I thought his reaction would be, he LOVES that thing so much!! Everytime that cleaning closet door opens and hears me dragging the thing down the hallway, he makes a beeline right towards me! And when I vauum is right beside me or behind me following that thing around! The other day I was vacumming around his highchair after supper and I let him play with it for a couple of hours after and Adrian was watching him, and telling him how he was going to be a janitor when he grows up! :) I can see that happening, he loves to watch me clean and is right in there, today I gave him his own cloth and he loved it. He mostly sucked on it the whole time, but there were a couple of times he was "wiping" the floor! I have a feeling that when he gets a little older he will wanna help with EVERYTHING! And, honestly I will be a very proud mommy when that time comes!

Bath Time!!

I took this picture a couple of nights ago! I thought it was so cute, and funny that I needed to share it! Bathtime is his favorite time of the day! I find it kinda funny that it is, because the first couple of months of his life he hated bathtime, he would scream and scream till we took him out. Oh, how times change.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO...

this beautiful women who I call MOM!!
I am very thankful for the mom that God has blessed me with! We have had our ups and downs, but she is always there for me and I know she will always be there for me! She always has a listening ear, and always has awesome Godly advice! She is a beautiful example of what a Godly mother, wife and now grandma looks like. I hope that the good Lord blesses her with many more years to come!

Ps: Yes, I have posted 2 happy birthdays today! Adrian and my  mom share the same birthday! Adrian calls it thier special day! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO...

Adrian, who happens to be my amazing, wonderful, funny husband!
I am so blessed to have a husband like him! There are days that we would love to rip each other heads off but at the end of the day our love overcomes that! I thank God everyday for bringing us together! He is smart, kind, funny and he is also an amazing father to our son Hayden. He is a great spiritual leader in the home, and an awesome example of what Christ was all about. He is forgiving, slow to anger, calm, and honestly I don't think he worries about a thing. I love you Adrian, and I hope that God blesses us with many more years together! Happy Birthday my love!

We love you!

Go Mitchell Go!

This past weekend my family came to stay with us because my brother had hockey provinicals here in Arborg! His first game was on Friday at 12:30! My brother, Ryan, played one of his best games! He did so good, he was passing and scoring! I am very proud of Ryan, he is the captain on his team and he I can see why the coach would pick him! He is an excellent leader, encourager and has a very tender heart! I watch the way he is with Hayden and it suprises me how a 12 year old wants too do so much with a 11 month old, they will play hockey, crawl around, read books and also changes diapers! Hayden loves him and will look up to him lots when he is older!!

Anyways, back the weekend! Friday night they had the opening cermonies, they had bag pipes and everything! It was a really cool thing, I have never seen 12 year old hockey taken to serious and be so formal! I was impressed by the town of Arborg! After the cermonies we came back to our house and just relaxed, and ate some snacks! On Saturday morning Ryan at a game at 10:45, which they won again and again he played amazing! They played in the afternoon again to see if they would go to the gold medal and sure enough they won that as well! The gold medal was played aganist Grand Plains, which happens to be a really good team (and they were good). Mitchell did very good, but ended up losing the gold medal game and going home with the Silver Medal! I think that is pretty good, they are 2nd team in the province, which I think is a  good accomplishment for a bunch of 12 year olds! Good Job Mitchell!!
