Waterslides, tears and sheer laughter!

This September long weekend we went to the "promise" land! WINKLER! :)
Two of our friends were getting married there and Adrian was doing the music during the cermony and had to be at the reherasal and etc, so since it being a three hour drive we decided to get a room at the Days Inn!

It was ALOT of fun! We ate, shopped, drove around, and of course took advantage of the waterslide!!

If you know Hayden, you will know that he is very sensative to loud noises and to "strangers" so we were not sure how he was going to react to the pool and waterslide!

We went at a time where there was no one there, that way it would be quiet, for example if any screaming kids were there he would have freaked, plus pool areas echo!

Adrian took him into the water, he is the only person that can take him in, he doesn't like going in with me, maybe he senses that I am not the biggest fan of swimming! He fussed a little bit and wasn't to sure what was going on and why he was surrounded by water that tasted funny!

After a couple of mintues he started to like it! So, then Adrian decided to try out the WATERSLIDE!
Hayden fussed and cried a little the first time they went but Adrian kept pushing it and kept on going and in the end it turned from tears to sheer laughter! He had SO much fun and did NOT want to leave, it was fight to get him to leave!

Here are some pictures from that weekend...

Hayden running in the pool area! If there was a lifegaurd, he would have gotten into trouble!
Bad mom award! ;)

Was not too sure at first when Adrian first took him in!

His face is sheer terror! Poor kid!

Hayden getting used to the water!
Hayden and daddy!

Finally starting to get used to it!

Having fun on the waterslide!

Adrian was trying to teach Hayden how to swim!
He was doggy paddling, didn't get the whole kick your legs thing!

Tons of fun was had on that weekend!!
Now I am eager for next summer to take Hayden to the water park here in Arborg!
Actually, I can wait for summer!

Hoc.. which means Hockey!

Lately Hayden has be LOVING the mini sticks and playing hockey! He loves it so much that he bathes with hockey stick, and sometimes sleeps with it!

The other night Adrian, Hayden and I were playing hockey and before we knew it, it was bathtime! We expected Hayden to throw down the stick and run to the bath like he usually does! This time yes he did run, but of course with his hockey stick! The only time he was in the bath tub he did NOT let go of it! He was playing with his bath toys and splashing, and this was all with one hand clutching his stick! SO cute! We were proud, since we both grew up surrounded by hockey.

Hayden after his bath! I think daddy had a hard time trying to get him dressed since he held onto it then as well!

I couldn't find his hockey stick in the morning so we improvised and he used a golf club instead, turned out to be in the car.

COOORE! That is how Hayden says SCORES!

I REALLY hope that there is NO NHL lockout this year that would be so sad!
The other night we watched ESPN Classic Hockey games and Hayden LOVED it! His eyes were peeled to the TV! So, for his sake I really hope that there is hockey this year! What would happen to our traditional hockey night in Canada pizza night!

Dear, NHL
Please come to an agreement!
Love, Hayden

Projects around the home!

The past month I have been feeling very crafy and wanting to get our house into more of a crafty homey kinda feel. I don't know how to explain! My DREAM home would be a cottagey, vintagey, crafty, kinda home! Lots of whites, greys with pops of color! And for Adrian's sake we would have some modern flair to it! He is all about the modern look, I am more about the character old homes!

Anyways, I decided to do some crafts that I have been wanting to do for a long time, and since the weather has been crisp, it was the perfect time to start some!!

Here are a couple of the crafts that I am DONE...

This the WINTER wreath that I made! It took me all day! Ususally crafts that should take maybe half an hour to an hour take me all day! That is life being a mother! Hayden was VERY good helper!

I am not TOTALLY sure if I like it, I feel that it is missing something! This one will go on the front door!

This here is our FALL wreath that I made for our front door! I do need to add more flowers though! I ran out of felt and living in a town where supplies are next to none, I will have to wait till I go to the BIG city!

This wreath is hanging on our main entrance door! It seems like we have lots of doors!

(sorry the pic is blurry, it was taken with my iPod!)
This was SO east to make! Orignally the frame was red and was a chalkboard in Hayden's room but after tearing the frame down EVERY day, I kinda got sick of putting it back up all the time (he now has a chalkboard WALL!) So, I painted the frame white, got little clothes pins, macked tacked the pins, glue gunned them, put twine up and DONE! Easy and it only took me 2 evenings! I happy with the way it turned out! I wanna put different pictures up though. I wanna get polaroids done! There is this website called PicMonkey, and you can edit your pictures to make them look like polaroids!

(again it is an iPod picture)

Hayden has started to do some "coloring" and crafts and our fridge was starting to get full with all his colorings and paintings! So, I made this little corkboard frames and put them in our hallway! Super easy, and super fun!

And that is what I have been doing in the afternoons and evenings! Thanks to my hubby for all the help!

Here is a peak on what I am working on...

I think this is the CUTEST!

Adrian is cutting the wood and hopefully it will be done by halloween!

I love fall!
