Life...

it can change in a blink of an eye!

Our life has been SUPER hectic lately!

A couple of posts ago I mentioned that my mom had a seizure, and how we all thought that maybe it was just related to stress.
Boy, were we wrong!

On Father's day, she had another seizure. She was brought to the hospital in aumbalance and was admitted to the hospital, where they did MRI's and blood work. She was put on Medication to help stop the seizures.

In CAT scan results it showed that her brain had swelling and there was shadows on her brain. The doctors thought that maybe the first seizure she had was also a Stroke. Some people have strokes without even knowing it, but the brain swells, and that can cause seizures. So that was the doctors intial thought, and again wrong! She went for a MRI and the MRI told the doctors that she had a tumor on her Front Left Lobal. It was a little smaller then a tennis ball. They then told us that the tumor was Cancerous! Boy, when my dad called to tell me that, it felt like I had been kicked in the stomach and could not breath! I would never ever wish for anyone to get a phone call like that!

Cancer is the MOST UGLY WORD! I would love to take that word and strangle it to death and then it would be gone forever!

She stayed in the hospital for about a week and was sent home. She now has a date to get the tumor removed on Tuesday! They will then remove as much as the tumor as they can, then take the tumor to test it to see if it is a Low Grade Cancer or High Grade Cancer. If it is a low grade then she will just have to take pills for the rest of her life and moniter it. If it is a high grade then she will have to have Chemo or/and radiation. Obviously we are praying for a low grade! Or better yet that the doctors will get in there and remove the WHOLE thing! That would be a miracle!

Through this whole time I constantly need to remind myself not to be angry and to shut down. When you are little you always think that your mom is invincable. That nothing can or will happen to her! That she live forever and never get sick, but that is not the case! We live in a world that is cursed with Sin and with sin comes sickness. BUT at the same time this World is FULL of beautiful things to!

The key for me is to stay positive thru this whole time! And when the bad thoughts come, to kick them out as fast as they came in!

If you are the praying type of person, I know that it is not everyones thing to do. But if you do have a daily prayer time, please keep my mom in your prayers! Along with my dad, he has been a true example of what it means to stick be her thru sickness and in health! It is truly amazing! Pray for peace and comfort, pray for a miracle, pray for the doctors and nurses that are involved with the surgery, give them steady hands, wisdom and awareness! Thank you!
