21 weeks!

Size of Baby: Spaghetti squash. 8 inches, 1 POUND! YAY!! We hit one pound!

My Body: This week I have been battling the FLU! BLAH! I got the flu shot, so when I got the flu I was kinda ticked off. On top of it Hayden got a little bit of it to, not as bad, but he did throw up a couple of times. NOT A FUN WEEK! Today, we feel SO much better!

Cravings: Pepsi! Not a very good craving to have! Thank goodness we do not have pop in the house!

Movements: LOTS and LOTS of movements!! I love it and I am very thankful that there is lots of movements!

The Inside Story: Well the baby is finally a 1 little pound! The baby is making more sense of the world as it develops the sense of touch! The little one may start grabbing the cord, and play with the cord (which we saw in our ultrasound today!). The sense of sight is also developing more and more each day. It can now sense light and dark much better. I think I may shine a flashlight on belly and see what the babe does!

In other news, today we had our ultrasound! VERY EXCITING but my nerves were on edge! I always get nervous when it comes to ultrasounds. All these what if's come into my mind and drive me crazy!  Anyways, my biggest worry (amoung other things obviously) was going into there and them telling me "Oh, you got your dates wrong you are actually not due till July". BUT lo and behold I got my dates right!! And my due date is still in May! YAY for the period tracker app! The ultrasound was going really good, the babe's heartbeat is strong and healthy, the brain is developed! And the baby was playing around with the cord which tells the tech that the babe's brain is developed like it should be! The only thing that had kinda stumped him and us was that he could NOT find the bladder. The babe has the kidneys and all the right tubes leading to it, its just that he couldn't see the bladder. Which at first got me VERY worried and scared, but then he assured me that the baby could have just gone pee and that the bladder wasn't full, and that is why he could not see it. I am not sure how to explain it, but when the bladder is empty all they see is gray (like tissue) when the bladder is full they see a little black "balloon". He then told me to come back in 40 mintues and hopefully the bladder will be full and he could see it. So, I dropped Adrian off at work, hung out with Hayden and Jaime (my sister who was babysitting Hayden), tried not to worry and went back. He tried again, and no show! So, he was thinking that maybe the baby peed again and that is why it wasn't showing again. Maybe this baby has his mommy's bladder! I asked him what the next step was, and he said that he is 99% sure that the bladder is there because everything else is there and looks good BUT he is going to send in a video and pictures of the baby to a specialist's and they will have look. He then told me that they will get ahold of me if I need to go get a fetal assesment, and not to worry! HAHA, which is funny because I was thinking to myself "do you not know that you are talking to the QUEEN of worrying". But instead I took a deep breath , said a little prayer and walked out trying my hardest not to cry or worry! So, now we wait, hope and pray that everything is okay, and if not I hope God can prepare us for what is to come! Thinking back now I am thankful that nothing is wrong with the heart, or brain!

And that was our day! Please keep us in your prayers as we wait and see what is up with our little one! Hoping that the ultasound tech is right that everything is okay!

Ps: I was EXTREMELY impressed with the ultrasound I had in Arborg. With Hayden they thought he had down syndrome at first so we had to go to the Women's Hospital in Winnipeg, and that was not a good time! Thanks to the ultrasound tech in Arborg for being patient with my millions of questions!
